In 2024, this looks like building a professional online presence, having a portfolio showing what you can do and being active on socials where you can connect with others in your industry. Shout about the work that you’re doing, you never know who is watching and what opportunities might come to you as a result of it! Attend industry events, webinars, and networking opportunities. Go alone if you need to - don’t be shy - there will be loads of people in the same boat.

2️⃣ Keep learning, things change fast!
If you really want to break into your industry, you can never stop wanting to learn more and be better. Focus on skills that are in high demand! Keep up to date with what’s happening in your industry by following influential people within it. The job market is constantly evolving, and the ability to pivot and learn new skills will make you more resilient and versatile.

3️⃣ Prioritise your mental health & work-life balance
Prioritise your well-being. Seek out employers who promote a healthy work-life balance and make sure you are setting clear boundaries between work and personal time. It is absolutely possible to find a role that challenges you whilst also allowing you to maintain your passions and hobbies. Keep seeking until you find one!
